I had a vision of a way we could have no enemies ever again, if you're interested in this. Anybody interested in hearing this?
It's kind of an interesting theory, and all we have to do is make one decisive act and we can rid the world of all our enemies at once.
Here's what we do. You know all that money we spend on nuclear weapons and defense every year? Trillions of dollars.
Instead, if we spent that money feeding and clothing the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over,
not one human being excluded ... not one ... we could as one race explore inner and outer space together in peace, forever.

BLURBS

“That this house notes with sadness the 10th anniversary of the death of Bill Hicks, on February 26th 1994, at the age of 32; recalls his assertion that his words would be a bullet in the heart of consumerism, capitalism and the American Dream; and mourns the passing of one of the few people who may be mentioned as being worthy of inclusion with Lenny Bruce in any list of unflinching and painfully honest political philosophers.” – Stephen Pound MP, Parliamentary House of Commons

“An inspired and inspiring truth teller, dangerous and brave and scary all at once.” – Richard Pryor

“Hicks’s stand-up act is about taking a stand – and occasionally dodging a chair.” – Rolling Stone

“Savage, brilliant, funny, tremendously intelligent.” – John Cleese

“He never disappointed.” – David Letterman

“Bill Hicks–blowtorch, excavator, truth-sayer, and brain specialist, like a reverend waving a gun around. He will correct your vision. Others will drive on the road he built.” – Tom Waits

“He was hilarious, brilliant, brave, and right about everything.” – Henry Rollins

“Bill was right up there with Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor. He was easily the best comic of my generation.” – Brett Butler

“With his clarity of vision and gift of words, if Bill Hicks had had any more time, he might have started a revolution.” – Keith Olbermann

“Being a genius is a heavy burden, and he’s the only one I’m ever likely to meet.” – Sean Hughes

“A uniquely passionate talent.” – The Independent

“Hicks is sensational ...it’s audacious, angry stuff.” – The Sunday Times

“A comedian unafraid of confronting audiences with brazen humanism and fierce political debate, while advocating the joys of hallucinogenics and hardcore porn.”– Sky Movies

“Hicks displays a rare gift of extracting informed humor from randomly assembled streams of bemused observation.” – NME
